00046 – True Friendship

Shoes on, hands chalked, she turned towards the bouldering wall — and stopped.

Near the top of the wall, on a V8 route (the hardest at that gym), hung a masterpiece in motion: at least 196 centimetres of nothing but long limbs and male muscles. Strong, thin fingers stretched languidly; strong, thin feet pointed precisely.

From one impossible hold to the next, to the next, to the next.

Her lungs only restarted when her friend, a mere 176 centimetres — and someone who would have been insulted by being called a "mere" anything, were he not also self-aware and a sport about it —, walked directly in front of her.

She may or may not have frowned as her line of sight was blocked. Her friend may or may not have noticed and said, "Let me get out of your way there," and sidled sideways so he was no longer blocking said line of sight.

And thus is demonstrated a truth universally acknowledged about friendship:

A true friend never obstructs their friends' views of tall & tasty eye candy.
